The BERNINA 1008 is the only totally mechanical machine that BERNINA makes. It has been out for almost 20 years now and replaced the old BERNINA 830(the one with the red Case). It uses the same bobbins, and same feet as the old 830. It does a 4 step buttonhole, and has a great satin stitch.
