Each month will cover a fiber related topic, what do you want to know more about? We would love to know! This event is free to attend!
What is woolgathering?
Woolgathering once literally referred to walking the fields and hedgerows picking tufts of wool naturally shed by sheep. Woolgathers seemed to be wandering aimlessly and naturally it was a good time to let your thoughts wander too. In mid-16th century, "woolgathering" began to appear as a phrase like "my wits went a-woolgathering". It wasn't long before woolgathering came to mean the act of daydreaming.
