- Mo: What do you think of the Quilt with Mo cruise vs. other Alaskan quilting cruises?
- Kim: Well, I've looked up several, and the first thing I see is this cost is so much nicer!
- Mo: And I'm proud that we are setting out the whole cost and not just the cruise price. Some of the other cruises look less expensive, but they really aren't. And, of course, summer is the best time of year to cruise Alaska.
- Kim: Yes! And I would much rather go on a casual cruise with fewer quilters than be in a "conference" or "convention" style cruise. I have always loved the friendships that develop at Quilt with Mo events and activities. They are so much more comfortable!
- Mo: Thank you, Kim. That's the goal of the Studio...every quilter is special and it's important to us to know them all by name without a name tag (giggle).
- Kim: You don't say anywhere that you have a special project or kit, or what we should bring. Can you tell me more?
- Mo: Of course...it's not a secret that we are designing our own wall hanging as the major project, along with other optional choices.
- Kim: Can you tell me about this wall hanging?
- Mo: First of all, you will take home your project at the end of the cruise, ready to hang on the wall. It's seasonal (in line with our other seasonal designs), and will utilize techniques such as "crazy quilting", "strip-piecing", "raw-edge or needle-turn applique", "paper-piecing", "machine quilting", and the Studio's technique for binding and hand-sewing. It's still all in the works, but we are so excited. It's not like anything you have done before.
- Kim: I see on other cruises the kit prices can be more than I want to spend. What should I be saving to pay for your kit?
- Mo: My usual kit prices are less than $50, and include the backing and binding. We will also utilize scraps from our stash. Funl
- Kim: What if I want to bring my own projects and just quilt whenever I want to and not on a set class schedule?
- Mo: I applaud flexibility and vacation relaxation. Take advantage of this wonderful cruise and fit quilting into your own schedule. Let me also say there is no extra cost added into the cruise for the quilting instruction or time, so if you choose to skip quilting and sit by the pool with a spouse or a friend, you won't be losing any value for your cruise.
- Kim: Well! Bob and I are signing up and I'm so excited!
This is going to be a wonderfully relaxing time, and I hope you join us!
Bring your spouse, friend, daughter, mother, sister, etc. and make a memory for Summer 2012!
